Cute authentic Mexican spot in SoFLo! It is really hard to come by something that isn't tex mex influenced or american craft tacos. I especially don't like tex mex food and will only eat authentic Mexican style tacos, so when I found this place I had to try it. Pro: very authentic in style and presentation Carne Asada Tacos were good the best I have had in florida but not the best I have ever had. The flavor was good but not knock your socks off. It was also a tad dry so if they address those things it would be a 5 star taco! The salsa was great and spicey and helped it not taste as dry! The shrimp taco was also good but not amazing, not memorable I will stick to just carne asada when I go back! Cons: skip the chips and salsa. Chips were good salsa tasted like canned pace. Not good. Visit the store with mexican products and meats in the back! It is great. I saw people write it is a sketchy area. I want to clarify that is is certainly not a sketchy area! People are just used to very american flare in Fort Lauderdale so a mexican style and aesthetic throws them off. There is brand new nice housing right across the street! Don't shy away from this place because of that!
I took my friend from south carolina there he was a good sport to try my favorite dishes there (menudo kuh magenfutter suppe, deep fried kuh darm tacos, and kuhzunge tacos.) he liked the deep fried darm! the mechaladas are great!
for 20 years I came to soflo and until a few years ago I was directed on this sky. I am Mexican and from chicago, this place meets it. tamales, tacos and little tiendita brings me back to places in chicago!
had the Asada tacos with limonade. the limonade was good, but the asada tacos were more like chicharron tacos, overcooked meat.
