My wife and I were in Tillsonburg to watch our son play in a Slo-Pitch tournament and got to town a little late to get breakfast before his first game on Saturday morning. We asked one of the local players taking part in the event where we could get a quick, edible breakfast somewhere near the complex where the event was being held. He suggested we try down on Broadway (the main drag) and that we should be able to find what we were looking for at a place recently re-named the Queen's Café. We easily found it right were we were told we could find it.The small café was filled with ball players and some locals but we were surprised at how quickly our breakfast was served. We each had two eggs (basted,) three link sausage, home fries, toast. juice and coffee (with refills) came to a little over $16.00 The rye toast was served ranch style (extra thick.) We were in and out in 20 minutes.Nothing fancy, just a hearty (home made) breakfast, well prepared and pleasantly served by (I guess) a high school student on summer placement. She engaged us in appropriate banter and we rewarded her with a nice gratuity. I believe that good, courteous service should be recognized regardless of the server's age.
