There are 2 restaurants that market themselves as vegan in Olde Town Arvada so after going to So Radish, I figured I should check out Urban Beets as well. I've now been to Urban Beets twice and while it is good, I wouldn't say it knocked my socks off. I think you're more so paying for the experience and the opportunity to sit on their lovely patio in Olde Town. The first time I got their Italian Grinder sandwich with chips. It was good but at $13, again, not particularly phenomenal. I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting but I was hoping for something a little above and beyond the style of the deli meat I could pick up in a grocery store. The next time I split the BBQ Jackfruit Nachos with a friend. It's certainly a very large portion of an opener so can be enjoyed by 2 or more people and perfectly fill you up. Again, I thought it was solid. I don't know what was going on but it took forever for it to come out that night and at least the server was self-aware of that and gave us a discount on the meal so I appreciate that level of customer service. Each time I've been there someone has been playing music on the patio. For the average restaurant-goer, this is either endearing or completely annoying. So just be aware of that if you are coming here that it could become a part of your dining experience as this location's patio appears to be the hub of where music is played in Olde Town. Ultimately, I think Urban Beets is more about its patio and its environment than its food. I love vegan restaurants but I found nothing here to be particularly special on the menu or making me yearning to return at its price point.
