my wife and I started our honeymoon with 2 nights in the villa howden: a beautiful French province villa on a stunning waterfront. this review will cover our afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast the next morning. So we start with freshly baked grains and our cheese plate. skorones bakery especially for us! with fresh cream a d local made sky jam! to die! and the cheese plate...nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom! dinner was great! half dozens of kilpatrick utter and half dozens of nature. sensational! we followed with the augenfilet and lachs both cooked medium rare and perfection; but the rocket and pear salad was moderate. the bottle of magic pinot noir was also a cracker! we skipped dessert when we were too full! we had really high hopes on break-proof, as yesterday freshly cooked brot and locally produced marmelade were to die. but today they have to run out as our posing eggs with speck and lachs (bruny breaky) were with smooth, while brot with a side of what seemed to be cottee's strawberry jam. not overly impressed for a 5-star hotel and a well maintained restaurant. have 4 photos uploaded. will add the others later when they are on the handy of my wife.
here you can enjoy two dinners and three breakfasts (included in our stay) during a guest in the villa howden. first, the service is the best I experienced in my life, so polite, attentive and friendly. second, I couldn't blame you for eating. Although not a cheap meal, I feel that the price comes the exceptional quality of food and service, and each night we have received complementary canapés brot. it was not for the cook to prepare a local production plate for us when we arrived at the hotel, although I think the kitchen was closed at the time. only suggestion would be to expand the weinlist to weep more, although this does not affect our meal at all! very disappointing to see so little positive reviews of this site as the personal works so hard to ensure that all guests enjoy an amazing time here! addit: the menu on zomato is not accurate from 2018 onwards, I would recommend contacting the restaurant or hotel directly for an updated menu!
Worst risotto I've ever had over cooked, gluggy and overpowering flavour of sundried tomato didn't understand sour cream either Beautiful location hotel is lovely. Would give restaurant a miss though
