The 1900s schoolhouse lumber bar room beer benches and repurposed 1915 church pews to booth benches all make Wharf Hill Brewing feel like a place from another time. However the warmth and authenticity is not limited to the decor, it is also seen in the friendly staff and a robust menu. It was fun that our first visit was for a candlelight dinner! We did not need light to appreciate the big flavor of the beer and meatloaf (sorry Mom, but their recipe was amazing)! This is definitely a spot to visit again (the burgers look fantastic) to lose track of time with good company and tasty brew! Old Courthouse Porter
My husband and I came across this place when we were looking for a new brewery and good food for us. It is located in the city of Smithfield and we drive about 20 minutes from our home town to check this place. The beer was amazing, good guest **** too! Our bartender Lydia took care of us. We ordered the non-competitors for a starter and shared a rheube and a Mac and cheese dish. The best food we had in a long time! We can't wait to come back!
The only reason we spent a lot was because we got two appetizers. Amazing food and staff. The woman has a shrimp po boy and I have the meatball sandwich. We ate so much and still had dessert. We drove from Chesapeake and were not disappointed. It was a good parents' night. Oh, you and our children ate the remains and loved it!
AMAZING! I had the cowboyburger, loaded pommes and onion rings. The fries I couldn't, but I've already planned to go back for more onion rings and try another burger. Our server was the sweetest guy ever and extremely friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.
