Refurb looks great and love the alfresco dining element but this is our third time visiting since the refurbishment and we definitely will not be returning. The first time we booked online, arrived and were told we had not booked so I showed them the confirmation email and we were taken to a table, not given menus, no one took a drinks order. We caught someone’s attention and asked to order drinks, they said they’d send someone and still within 40 mins of being seated we didn’t have a drink, let alone a meal, so we left. Second time was better albeit still shockingly mismanaged resulting in appalling service. Constantly having to ask for drinks, cutlery, the bill more than once, to pay… it was a shambles only made up for by the nice weather. The food was ok. 6/10 food. 10/10 decor. 1/10 service. The third time was just as bad. We were shoved into a corner despite the bistro being empty and once again had to ask to be served, ask for a table setting as not enough places were set etc. The drinks orders that did arrive were wrong, the food was bland and tasteless. We won’t return which is a shame cause it’s nice to have a lovely, local restaurant but it feels as though the managers don’t know how to actually manage FOH staff and bad service just ruins a whole evening.
