After reading so many good comments about this resto we decided to go, as we apreciate japaneese food. BUT we got realy disapointed i mean we couldn't understand why so many people loved this place? It's a tiny resto , doesn't look like a real resto btw, 6 tables and some places at the bar, regular decoration, few drawings on the wall and no music .. For the menu they proposed japanese dishes like teriyaki chirashi some nudle soups.. For sushi suuuch a big disappointment i mean come on 16€ for 10 regular sushis (4 makis, few salmon sushis..) nothing special and such a price it's too much!! We were expecting something wooow , but got smth regular and overpriced. We tried much much better sushis in St laurent du var and Nice.. Nothing to compare:( then for the main dish i took chirashi it was good , fresh products, tasty.. And my husband had a chiken teriyaki, was also good sweet taste like he likes. Although service is long, we got our dish almost after an hour of waiting. A we couldn't find any info about menu and prices(they don't have web -site) here it is: dish of the day - salmon rice salad 14.5€, the portion is not very big, chirashi 15€, teriyaki 14€ , tiramissu 7€, tea 3,5€ ... Just to give u idea .
5 minutes from the train station, we found this small Japanese restaurant with The real Japanese traditional - family dishes names on the menu bookBefore visiting Haut-de-Cagnes.Inside aswell. There was a Japanese lady and the lovely Japanese decorations Which remember me my stay in Japan ! I especially loved Katsu-Don with freshly Prepared porc and Ramen-noodles which they prepared the soup by theirself For the menu of the day. Everything was so tasty and fresh. The dishes were cooked like in Japan and the Japanese beer was cheaper than in Nice.For dinner, opening only on Friday and Saturday so we couldn't come back After the sightseeing but they have more choices than lunch time service.
Yoko, the restaurant, is small, unassuming, traditional and high quality - just like the owner. Yoko, the person, is a lovely, friendly Japanese lady who serves her (French, trained in Japan) husbands Japanese dishes every midday except Monday and Friday and Saturday nights.The food is very good. A "plat du jour" which changes every day is excellent value. The sushi, chirashi, seaweed salade, tempura... everything is amazingly good and freshly made to order. It takes time to eat here as everything is made when you order it.The iced tea is wonderful in summer. If I could eat here every day I would.
This little Japanese restaurant is a real gem! Truly authentic Japanese cuisine (which is not the case with a lot of Asian restaurants I've been to on the Cote d'Azur). Very cozy little palce, with few tables. And the prices are very reasonable as well (it has to be said though that the portions are on the small side).
