After a long trip to Paris, where I was starved for good vegetarian food, leave alone Indian food, eating at this place was complete bliss. It is at a walkable distance from the Basel Station. It is an intimate culinary experience, not just eating at a restaurant. Authentic, home cooked Indian food made with a lot of care and love. The staff is extremely friendly, it truly felt like a homecoming. The variety in the menu is great. The spice is just right, divine for the senses. The rates are good. Thoroughly relished the thali and would definitely love to come, time and again.

It was a lunch appointment with a work colleague. Having heard positive reviews about this place from other colleagues, i wanted to check it out myself. It was indeed a positive lunch experience. There were four lunch options including a thali. The restaurant serves home cooked vegetarian and vegan meals and lovely spread of south indian as well as north indian dishes. My sambar was really tasty. I also tried their garlic naan which was pretty good too. Gururaj Joshi who manages the place himself was very friendly and hospitable. His warmth and smile indeed gave a feel of enjoying a home cooked meal at home. I will definitely go again as I want to try their dinner options.

Awesome home cooked Vegetarian Indian food! Best place in this part of Switzerland! Varying menu / value for money / great guy. Open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Markthalle is best place for food in Basel!
