Tree covered beer garden outside, under the shade of the chestnut trees. Enjoy a delicious cold beer to the sounds of the rustling leaves and people having fun. Austrians are surely lovely people but they have a suspicion of strangers that sometimes manifests itself as unfriendliness. That was the case here but apart from the curt manner and the lack of humor, our meals arrived promptly and in good order. Delicious schnitzels with a great crunch and moistness. Needed a little sauce is all. This is the only establishment in all Europe I’ve seen displaying the European Allergy Code. My schnitzel, for example, was marked with the warning initials C, product contains egg; G, contains lactose; M contains mustard.Such hypocrisy. Food warnings in a place where everyone smokes their heads off? I could suggest some other initials to add to the code. There could be S for second-hand-smoke-hazard or W for why-are-you-blowing-your-smoke-at-me. Everyone smokes in the pub in Austria, the law permits it. I myself don’t mind them doing it, just not around me.Ignore my comments about smoking. It’s a nice pub anyway.
