Le Brassus is a tiny village in the lovely Vallée de Joux near the French border of the canton Vaud north of Geneva. Skiers come during winter, hikers during summer. Le Brassus, surprisingly, is also home to fine Swiss watchmakers Audemars & Piguet and Blancpainc. For the suppliers and clients of the horologists there are two decent four star hotels. But their restaurants are closed on Sunday evenings. So if you get stuck hungry in Le Brassus on a Sunday evening, go to Cathy's and Greg's "Le Bivouac", just opposite the post office, which remains open even on Sunday evenings and where my friend and I enjoyed the best lasagne we have ever had and the friendliest service by Greg.
