My favorite Japanese restaurant in the Cupertino/San Jose area. Near authentic as you go to get (the waiters wear these cool kimonos, and half the restaurant is tatami style that is always fun. Start with the Agedashi Tofu and Chicken Karage (or some sushi from the sushi bar). I like their combo sets (beef sukiyaki and shrimp tempura yum! You also have items that you may not see differently like Chawan-Mushi (Japanese steamed egg and Japanese rice balls). (Nothing is pretty delicious good food. The price (probably at $20 for the meal makes it miss that 5 star brand though.
Located at the end of a strip mall. Parking in the evening was easy. Had a good time here. Food was good, some sushi rolls were a little on the smaller side but not atypical for the area as are the prices. Staff were very nice. Not pushy or quick to have us leave after we ate. The overall ambience was nice but a little dated. It’s not an upscale restaurant but also not a hole in the wall type of place. The restrooms were clean but stuck in the 1980s and overall the restaurant could do with a remodel.
Solid Japanese restaurant. They've got a good assortment of regular dishes and sushi options. Sushi tasted fresh enough, but the house specials are where my favorite dishes are. Service kinda depends on where you're seated. If you are sitting behind any tables, be ready to flag down wait staff. Interior is relatively clean, though some areas are a little sticky. It gets busy after 6, so expect to wait if you come after then
I find azuma to be a taste. starting with her incredible suppe and everything I tried on the menu, my palate sung with borrowing the happiness. Whenever I'm close and it's close to lunchtime, I make it a point to enjoy their wonderful (and inexpensive) tariff. I wish there were more stars to forgive. they are wonderful.
