Barbara Jean's On The Water

Nice restaurant along the St. Johns river. Outdoor seating available. A menu full of southern, home cooking dishes. Several options when it comes to picking out sides. You have to try the shecrab soup. It is fantastic with a generous portion! During our visit we split it among 2 people. The bread basket is ample. The pumpkin cornbread is unique and tasty. Just a heads up their grits are not the standard, they are very fine ground and thick like a paste. The pot roast portion was very generous and flavorful. Just a note to have your whole party present or you cannot be put on the wait list.

My first time here, and I’m sure if I try something else it might be different. First the good, the glutinous rolls and tasty butter were awesome. My meal, I had a crab cake sandwich and I think it was 70/30 bread to crab cake. Maybe next time I’ll try something else, but for my first time, was let down just a bit.

Great food, crab cake truly is #1, loved the key lime margarita, our waiter Luke was fantastic and welcoming, kids loved the patio and watching the catfish eat crumbs. So glad we made this part of our Jacksonville visit!

Came for the she crab soup, stayed for the views. Soup sent me into a coma bliss state. It's definitely the best I've had. Keep it going Barbara Jeans
