Birallee Tavern

We used to go to the Birallee tavern at least once a month with the family, but since January, we have stopped going. We're unsure if they've gotten a new chef or what but the food has seriously gone down hill. The second to last time we went, we brought our friends from Sydney. We ordered 12 oysters kilpatrick, which we send back as they tasted like the had been sitting out on the bench for quite awhile and we're basically awful. Then my friends ordered the pork belly which was SO dry and I ordered the San choy bow which I couldn't even finish. I don't know what's going on there but it's just a joke now when we mention going to the Birra.

We had dinner here at short notice a couple of nights ago - not too many good places open on Sunday night, but Birra was busy, and staff were busy yet they really looked after us, our meals for us 4, didn't take too long and all were v good. They have a Seniors Prices options too, attractively priced if you qualify! We just liked the friendliness of the restaurant, to relax in and chat together, enjoying our piping hot meal..

13 people for 13 meals, and you guessed it,TABLE 13All orders are in and was told all meals will be served together So wrong!And 13 minutes after the first meal, we got the last mealInconsistency in the food on the platesScallops and Prawns came with or without tartare sauce and lemon Steak was cooked to perfection and was the saving grace

The food is amazing, very reasonably priced and generous servings. We have eaten here a number of times and each time had been excellent! The staff are outstanding, very efficient and most helpful. I highly recommend this establishment.

The steaks are the way you want them to be, soft and juicy., and I was fortunate enough to be there on steak night. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
