Op de terugweg voorbij Parijs ligt Compiegne rond lunchtijd ideaal. Naast de rivier is een ruime parking en om le Bistro te bereiken hoef je alleen de straat over te steken. De ontvangst was vriendelijk en correct, de meeste aanwezigen waren lokale inwoners en zakenlui die hier kwamen lunchen. Naast een beperkte lunchsuggestiemenu wordt ook een formule van twee of drie gangen voorgesteld en kan je naar de kaart eten. Wat wij geserveerd kregen was lekker en zeker voldoende. De wijnen zijn zeker betaalbaar en als geheel moet ik dit als geslaagd beschouwen. Le Bistro blijft genoteerd om bij een volgende doortocht aangedaan te worden.

Saturday evening meal with a full restaurant. We took the menu of the day that we liked. the kitchen is based on fresh and homemade products. the osso bucco was very good, the parts were copyy. Fortunately, we arrived at the beginning of service and we were able to change the table. The service was not very fast, but smiling and friendly.

the traditional bistro frame gives conviviality and warmth to the atmosphere. the attentive and discreet service adds to the charm. the kind of place you feel very comfortable. The card is so nice. the choice of fresh fish of the day deserves the detour alone. Traditional cuisine is tasty, fine. We've had a lot of fun. It was a discovery for us, it is certain that we will return often. prices are very reasonable (menu entrance, dish, dessert = 30 euros, aperitif and glass wine = 10 euros).

we were visiting the imperial compiègne palace which unfortunately was closed on 15 August. We have lunched at the arts bistro where the reception is helpful, fast and professional service of the 2 servers, no waiting time between the dishes while the room was filled with guests. We recommend the poached egg with its salad as well as enjoy it with its salted butter cream. It is necessary to count about 50 euros per person for entry, plate, desert and drink.
