Old Town Cartagena is a mishmash labarynth of shops, bars, churches, plazas and government buildings with much of the 300-year building. It is a great walk even in the near equatorial heat of the coastal city. At some point, whether you follow the pretty taxis, tourist groups, or randomly land in a large area (Santo Domingo) dominated by outdoor cafés. Milenio Catagena is a favorite of locals and tourists alike. The menu, although extensive is a bit hard to find, and the servers are hardly controversial. We had enough English and Spanish to work with them on the menu. A FROSTY Cartagena brewed beer was the perfect starter. As fans of seviche from all over the region, we decided to go this route. Served in a large martini type glass, this heaping part of all sorts of fresh fish with a paleable sauce enough to fill every walker. The Seviche was good; we enjoyed better. Price was a tad high, but played on the high profile location and releative easy access. As usual in Cartagena, the road tractors interrupted us at least half a dozen times with all ROLEX watches to printed teas and inspired films. It comes with the territory. Don't miss the old town and Café Milenio is a pleasant break.
