After a hike in the woods we dropped into the Can Pech because we remembered having a drink there the year before liking the ambience: 'a clean, well-lighted place ' with a friendly humorous proprietor. This time we had the plat du jour, a pork chop grilled to order with sautéed potatoes, honest plain food perfectly cooked, bread 25cl of wine per person thrown in for 10 euros. You may get fancier but you won 't get better in Arles. Chouette.
Ordered a steak hache which was inedible; it came with over boiled and then fried haricots verts. Sent the dish back. An aggressive argument then ensued and I was made to pay for it. I was then thrown out. My worst experience in France in 50 years.
