I must admit, I do not eat at pubs, bars, or grills, I am not a meat eater or alcohol drinker, and due to my experiences in Toronto, Ontario with the pubs, bars, and grills, with the substandard menu and food not to mention the rude and unprofessional staff. So needless to say I was already worried when I looked up and saw Pub and Restaurant. But like that old saying goes, "Don't judge a book by it's cover", as I was eloquently reminded by the amazing GM.I am shocked as it did appear to be a pub, it had a family restaurant feel and energy to it. From the moment I sat down and was waited on by Travis, I new this was going to be the experience I have been hoping for.After the amazing service from Travis, I had to say something to the GM about my service.Fast forward a couple of hours later, we finally came to saying goodnight. I wish this place was in Toronto as it would be my daily hangout for lunch or dinner.I love this place and truly recommend visiting if you get a chance.Peter Gouveia
We visit a couple times a month. Decided to hit the patio last week on a beautiful evening. My hubby had a philly steak and cheese and lattice fries. I had wings and potato skins. His meal was great. My wings were good as usual. Potato skins were really not very good at all. They honestly seemed old and hard. Like they had been sitting around and reheated. I've never had bad potato skins before but I wouldn't order them again. Sitting outside they had the ball game playing on the tv. Which was fine but music on a patio would have been nice. This patio has a lot of potential. A good days work could bring it up to par. It's a decent sized space. It needs some updated furniture and a bit of paint, a broom and some potted plants. The owner of this place takes pride in his business so I'm hoping he reads this and does a bit of sprucing up the place. We will be back cause it's a decent meal with fair prices.
Tried the fish and chips. Fish undercooked and tasteless. Cajun Sirloin Pasta. Sauce was gritty, sirloin had the distinct taste of liver. Grilled bread had stale taste. Also canned mushrooms? Ick. Service was ok, what struck me as very unsanitary was the wait staff filling single serving cups of mayo, salsa, etc in the area where the staff leave personal items, and they didn't have gloves or hair nets while doing this. HmmmThere is only one Manager that seems to speak to the Customers, the others are stand off, with distinctly poor attitudes They need to stay with their strengths, bar food, such as wings, ribs, fries. These are excellent.
We went to Castle John's for lunch. I had a wrap and soup and my mom ordered the same. The meal was quite large and very filling. The soup was really good and very hearty. The fajita wrap was filling but lacked flavour. Over all it was a nice lunch. The staff was great, our waitress was very friendly. I would give this place another try.
