Didn't know Teruel at all so we picked this place from previous TripAdvisor reviews. Thursday night in Teruel was absolutely buzzing in the bars in the squares and the main shopping streets and and all things considered for a run of the mill Thursday in June it was rocking and a great atmosphere. The same could not be said for the restaurant at 9.00pm when we arrived or at 10.15pm when we left. Only the 2 of us and one other table of 2 in the place. That said, the service was great (hard not to be with only 4 dining), the Menu del Dia was excellent and the house wine (included in del Dia) acceptable. We had 2 menus, a large bottle of Agua sin gas, a bottle of house rose all for 22 euros. I know that price isn't everything but the extensive choice for all 3 courses and the quality was great value for money and I would definitely go back even though the atmosphere on the quiet Thursday we were I, was not what I hoped! The albondigas were some of the best I have had throughout Spain done with fried potatoes and a superb onion and pepper sauce! We would definitely recommend despite the ambience tonight!
We went on a Sunday night (9pm) and originally thought it was a bar from the smokers crowding the doorway. Once we got into the restaurant, however, it seemed like a pretty basic diner. As others have commented, the menu del dia (appetizer, main course, desert and drink) was inexpensive at 11euros. The waiter let me substitute the drink for a beer. The food was good and there was enough to fill you up. I thought it was an excellent value and appreciated the quiet (4 of the 8 tables were filled, four tables were locals, two (us included) were tourists). The waiter seemed used to the verbal gymnastics required with non-Spanish speaking tourists. I'd go back.
for lunch, lunch or dinner. I see ten very noble people. a wave, smell and smell. Really. If you have a chance to come, you'll go as we're very agusto.
