We really enjoyed our evening from the very start. The ambience was lovely and the music, French of course, was just the right level and relaxing. As we were not very good French speakers, the owner carefully explained the menu in English. We both decided on the plate de jour and really enjoyed it. However when we discovered that the crème caramel was to the owner's grandmother's recipe then there was no question of what we were going to have for dessert. And it was wonderful! You could really taste the caramel and the texture was nice and firm. A real pleasure to linger over. Afterwards the chef came out to chat with us before he was scooted back to the kitchen as it was busy. But it does show that they care both for their food as well as for their customers. We'd have no hesitation in recommending Chez Marthe.Oh, and the prices were very reasonable.

Staying at a local hotel and we were recommended Chez Marthe for a good meal. Exceeded all expectations. Warm welcome (both in French and English) and shown to a lovely two seater and talked through the menu which offered pizza to chicken. The man who we presumed tobe the owner, was interested in what we were doing and where we have been- very pleasant and not full on. Food was delightful (highly recommend the creme caramel- it's his grandmothers recipe). What really made the night was when the chef came out to speak to us, albeit briefly as the orders were coming through thick and fast! Please visit, you will not be disappointed!

I was on a guys cycling trip and we loved it so much we dined there two nights in a row. Great atmosphere that the owner designed himself. Ran into others that also came back the next evening. Turned into a Tour de France media hang out. Fantastic food. Charcuterie plate with a yummy salad. Good pizzas and entrees. The owners personally gave it that special edge. Highly recommend this place tucked in a back ally with a great story. My rating is based on my experience. A great atmosphere with delicious food that was comforting and uplifting. Especially after a long day of cycling.

With a roaring log burner, very tasteful décor, cosy ambiance, I was very impressed by this little restaurant tucked away down a side street in this prettiest of French ski resort villages. It's not often that I eat a meal and just go 'wow'. The menu is small but the care, craftsmanship and attention to detail of the food indicates an extremely talented chef.
