D'en Bahi Restaurant serves traditional Catalan food. Their food is well prepared on one level but is sort of average on other levels. The cooked food is okay but the buffet salad was clearly fresh salad mixed with day old stuff. I was served from the Buffet dark green mushy old dying lettuce mixed in with totally fresh crisp lettuce. The grated carrot was dehydrated and paper-brown dry at the edges. The sliced tomatoes were powdery and mushy and dry. Meat eaters might not notice this? The traditional Catalan bread served rubbed with tomato and garlic was not toasted. It was normal just bread and if there was fresh garlic on the bread I did not find it (nor taste it). In other restaurants the same garlic tomato on toasted bread was truly fantastic. The restaurant is located in a pleasant setting and has plenty of space for privacy and the feeling of enjoying to be there and eat traditional food. People are friendly. It is certainly worth going there once if you are visiting the area. If you are Vegetarian: Salad is treated like what you might give to the rabbits after a meal. If you do not eat seafood there is a big emphasis on cheese! Not only do I not eat seafood but I usually do not each cheese. If you are lactose intolerant you may have to argue a bit why you like cooked vegetables without cheese.
We go to this restaurant about 4 times a year. We have always received a very friendly and helpful service and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. Besides the normal working days ' ' 'menu del dia ' ' and the a la carte menu, they also offer a weekend menu for around 20 euros which consists of 3 courses and includes wine, water and bread. Coffee is extra.
Someone knows if they've opened in a new place?In the area there are many restaurants that eat very well but this was one of my daughter's favorites, it's a small gourmet and whenever we go past the restaurant asks me to go eat there, that's why I'd appreciate if someone knew if they started elsewhere, I could tell me where.
