Unser Mittagessen bestand aus Pizza und Salat, während die meisten Menschen um uns herum sehr große, wunderschön präsentierte Eisdesserts aßen. Ich kann nur für die Pizza loben, die wir gegessen haben und sie war köstlich. Für Amerikaner sei darauf hingewiesen, dass Peperoni auf der deutschen Speisekarte als Salami aufgeführt ist. Ein Mitarbeiter, der Englisch sprach, kam und half uns bei der Bestellung. Der Salat, den ich hatte, war Eisbergsalat mit dunkelgrünem Garn. Dazu kam ein ordentlicher Beilagensalat mit Mais, Karotten, Gurken und Kürbis. Ich fragte, ob der Salat weißer Eisberg oder dunkelgrün sei und die Antwort war grün. Die Frage ging in der Übersetzung verloren, aber ich hätte sie nicht bestellt, weil ich mir zum Mittagessen einen gesunden grünen Salat gewünscht hätte. Ich muss sagen, dass die Eisdesserts ziemlich verlockend aussahen.
Have been here many years ago during our first trip to Maria Alm and had very good memories of it.So now being back in Maria Alm I wanted revive those good memories however this became to be a major disappointment.We ordered coffee and hot chocolate with cream but both were very waterish and basically tasteless.My partner drank only 2 sips of her coffee and left it, I finished my chocolate but not because it was so great tasting. The cream was of a good quality though.The place has a very nice atmosphere and if one really wants a lot can be made out of it.The service was quite uninterested and a bit unfriendly, not at all at the standard we normally experience in Austria.So we will be back in Maria Alm for skiing, that is for sure but the Dorfcafe we will from now on pass by, waste of money and time.
"Husband " and I went here for dinner after a day on the slopes . We hadn't booked ( which I would recommend doing in future) but we just timed it right as they found us a table tucked near the bar . The staff were friendly, spoke good English and the service was excellent . The food was really good quality Italian , I had the Raviloi , husband had an extremely " hot" pasta dish and all washed down with cold beer and good house wine . Very busy restaurant,so there is a wait time for the food to arrive , but it is worth waiting for and you are not hurried , it's not a big place but that lends to its warmth and the cooking aromas wafting round are enough to make your mouth water . Meal for 2 including beer and wine and coffee a very reasonable 35€ ..
We visited this little café when stayed at Maria Alm. We had an ice coffe drink and an ice cup. Both were deliscious and we enjoyed it. When we were there it was crowded and it have only one waitress rushing back and forth. It take a while to get our orders. But you can sit outside and look into the busy street when eating. It was great overall.
