Falken

Splendid decor the bannister is a long wooden, carved snake and the whole place has a sort of old world flavour to the extent, unfortunately, of having a bucket next to our table to catch the drips which, rather alarmingly, seemed to come from the electric light. Another interesting point for nostalgia: the first question we were asked on arriving was: smoking or non smoking? Hadn't been asked that for ages! The downstairs is smoking and the upstairs is non smoking. Made me wish I still smoked. The food, when it came (there was a coachload in the other room was delicious. My Currywurst went way beyond the normal smothering in curry sauce, and the accompanying salad was equally original but the sausage was cold (was it supposed to be? We ordered the local Falken beer and local red, both of which were excellent. A safe bet if you want to try local fare, but check if the currywurst is supposed to be eaten hot or cold and maybe don't sit by the electric light near the wondo.

We had a 3-course lunch at Falken restaurant and were completely satisfied with this dining place. Food taste was fabulous. Its location was right at the town centre and nearby many shopping outlets. The restaurant was arranged with simple yet warm layout. Staff were helpful and always smiley.

We had a really nice dinner. The pork was delicious, the beer went down very well and the waiter Adrian made us feel very welcome. All while sitting outside enjoying a warm August evening in beautiful Schaffhausen. Delightful.
