Gasthaus zum Löwen

Found this place by pure chance when travelling through the Country Lanes in Luzern. It used to be a Family Farmhouse cum Restaurant of the sort where the Farmers met once a week to eat and talk. With its low ceilings and all wood interior, heavy wooden Tables and chairs, it still maintains the allure of the old days. As befitting its location in the Country, the food is hearty and Plenty and if impeccable quality; in fact, some Town restaurants would struggle to attain the standards that this House takes for granted. The service is faultless, jovial and attentive.

Wir waren vor längerer Zeit im Löwen. Vor allem Familienfeste werden da gefeiert. In der Wildsaison ist der Löwen besonders zu empfehlen. Den Wildhasen gibt es wirklich nirgends so lecker wie im Löwen. Der Jus passt perfekt, er überdeckt nicht das Gericht, sondern unterstützt es. Wirklich wunderbar. Die klassischen Beilagen sind super. Speziell die Spätzli sind der Kracher. Ich liebe es leicht salzig. Gratulation zu so einer einfachen aber umso besseren Küche. Ich meine es also als Kompliment wenn ich sage. Das schmeckt wie bei Grossmutter

delicious eating with friendly and cheerful staff, as well as the host family very friendly. we always like to come back and feel comfortable if I could, I would give it 10 stars
