The rooms were large and nice. Even the small rooms were ample. Shared bathroom, but there was a sink in the room. An armoire was also available. Heaters were available but stuck on a setting and couldn’t get the room any warmer. There wasn’t anyone...available at night and there was no hot water or tea/coffee available. If I wanted to put something in the fridge I would have to wait until someone showed up at the restaurant. Easy to get to bus. The old town Salzburg was just across the bridge. My bed broke the last night I was there. It had looked like someone had tried to tape it back together with duct tape to salvage it. The head staff Lukas has offered me a larger bedroom which was very nice of him but as it was Christmas Eve no one was available to help move my luggage (would have had to re pack and change floors via the stairs), I just decided to stay put and sleep on the bed. The cleaning woman was very nice and asked if I needed anything like fresh towels. The train station is a bus ride away. Breakfast is offered for an additional charge. No elevator. Bathrooms are clean.

This was a gem of a place! We happened on this friendly neighborhood restaurant close to the apartment we were staying for a week! I can't say enough great things about it! The staff was the best and without doubt it was he best customer...friendly service our entire trip to Europe! If you go ask for Gabby she was a delight! The food was fantastic; good portions and absolutely delicious! The beer was cold and plentiful. We ended up there three of the five nights for dinner after long days. On our last night the staff had reserved us our private table and served us dessert and apricot schnapps; at no charge!!! The food was consistently wonderful. If you ever find yourself in Salzburg on the outskirts of downtown; stop in and enjoy! I promise you will not regret it! Tell Gabby hello from her friends in Talking Rock, Georgia!

This place is a quaint, quiet little spot right in the middle of everything, next to the river, with mountain views, and in easy walking distance of the university. You get really good value for the money, and if you've been to Austria in the 70s and 80s, like I have, you'll feel a welcome vibe of nostalgia when you arrive and see... well, everything. This also includes the rooms, and even breakfast. It's forever 1985 in this place, in a nice sort of way.Of course, that means there will be more up to date places around, but why would anyone want that? It's the good old times there. That includes what may well be one of the world's most acoustically impressive toilet flush mechanisms. Hit that, and "rrooaarr!" Everyone knows where you've been.Lovely garden, too. Looking forward to coming back in summer.

Our family with teens and tweens had a great meal. The mains were very generous and we couldn't fit dessert. Kids had various types of schnitzel. I had beef goulash and it was delicious. Would be nice for lunch if they serve it in the garden. Very close to the river.
