If you want a central location in the Bernese Oberland with access to both the Susten and Grimsel passes this quiet locale is perfect. This area of Switzerland is ideal for all kinds of exploring and activities such as skiing, hiking, mountain road biking, and lots of things for kids. This locale is also very popular with motorcyclists. The restaurant is fairly standard, but has good selections and good food. We recommend the rosti. If you stay for breakfast they serve an all you can eat buffet that is simple, but adequate. Staff is very accommodating and helpful with tips about local things to do. The rooms are modern and straightforward, but most are loft type with a steep staircase up to the beds. Those rooms are not suitable for older adults or folks with limited mobility. There's no air conditioning, but we didn't need it even in mid August. Reservations were easily made off the restaurant/hotel's website and they accept credit cards. Across the street are: train stop, bike shop, small grocery store, tourism center, and bus stop. Only minutes away is the superb Trift suspension bridge not to be missed!
This place was easy to find, just look for the crowded lot. Parking was easy and it's located right on the main intersection between susten and grimsel pass roads. We were there for lunch and everything was great. Service, selection, and quality were awesome.
We stumbled upon the Hof and Post riding from Italy to Switzerland, after the Moto GP Round at Muggelo. a great overnight stay with good food, oh and Great views (Well from our Room anyway)
Sauberes und gemütliches Restaurant, gutes Menü. Sie sprechen viele Sprachen. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt hier wirklich genossen. Einige Bewertungen erwähnt Fliegen, ich habe keine gesehen.
