We have become quite regular visitors to La Poissonnerie, (or 'leShed ' as we call it! and can honestly say the seafood is the freshest and the tastiest in the area. There are plenty of other good restaurants in Saint-Cast town and you have to drive or walk around to the harbour side to get to it, and it may not look like much, but it 's well worth it. It has had new owners this season but the menu has not changed. I think the service is better now but hey, what more could you want when waiting for your lunch than a bottle of Muscadet and a fabulous view. Try the St. Pierre if they have it, it 's delicious or the seafood platters are well worth it, but not if you 're in a hurry! (you need to take your time! We have taken friends and family there for lunch and it has always been a success. We will be back!
A very popular restaurant with many local patrons. You know a fish restaurant shall be good when you pass the constituents of the menu either still swimming in a tank or laid out on ice in their shop area of the establishment. Fortunately we had booked for the Saturday night whilst staying in the adjacent marina from England. Our food was delicious and freshly cooked. Service was swift and friendly; maybe a little too swift for some people’s liking. Very reasonable price for the quality of the food supplied.
We arrived at 7pm we were one of the first there and ordered quite quickly 1 starter and 4 main courses starter came within 20 mins or was 6 oysters so no cooking we then waited another 1hr and 10mins for our main courses which arrived after asking waitress how much lo.ger we were going to wait meanwhile resturant was filling up and people were being served food was ok would of preferred vegetables in season to pureed blobs
We had the specialty the Moules Marniere. They were beautiful and plentiful. The kids loved them. They came with a side of fries and were very reasonably priced. The wine was also beautiful and very reasonable prices. We are going back there on holiday next year and we are very much looking forward to visiting there again.
