We stayed across the street from La Ticinella for 4 nights and ate here for dinner 2 of them as well as took a pizza to go for our 5 hour train ride back to Geneva.The food was SO incredible for such a great...price especially in Lugano/Switzerland in general! We ate from the seasonal asparagus menu twice where each dish featured fresh, local asparagus. The parmesan risotto that came on the side of the dishes was simply to die for. We tried catch of the day with a lemon asparagus sauce veal scallopini with an asparagus wine sauce both fantastic. HUGE selection of pizzas which we indulged in 3 times. It was busy both times we went but the food was very quick coming out you could tell was prepared by a very caring, talented chef!
Over the street in the hostel and the staff recommended this restaurant for dinner. Expansive menu of Ticino-specific dishes that were beautiful! The local wines offered are also very beautiful. Our server was friendly and helpful.
Pizzas in La Ticinella were really good, but quite expensive considering they had plastic chairs and the miljö wasn't that nice with all the traffic.
Top pizza! Definitely this is the best place to have in lugano a good pizza! Trust me! You're in good hands. Even for business meetings is perfect
