Le Relais du Çatey

My wife and I have eaten and stayed at this fabulous restaurant and hotel many times over the last decade and we have never ever been disappointed. The chef, Dominic, is an absolute magician with food and we have found that his food frequently excels...meals that we have been served at three star Michelin restaurants. For both lunch and dinner there are several set menus (with choices) and the wine list has a wide selection from which to choose. We last stayed at Le Relais du Catay a week ago and, as always, we had fantastic food from the amuse bouche to the petit fours that accompanied coffee. Our room was comfortable, there is good free wi-fi, and prices are not expensive. What more could one want? It is important to point out that we have noted that the restaurant is usually full every night so it is always ooworthwhile making a reservation. It is worth leaving the autoroute (Junction passing the huge Carrefour hypermarket (very competitively-priced fuel), and driving the short distance to the Relais du Catay. You certainly won't be disappointed. Both Dominic and his wife Valerie are wonderful hosts and the two waiters Alban and Gilbert are both charming and very attentive. Our top two meal tips are: Choose a menu which includes the exceptional cheese trolley and Always select the Table des Deserts as your desert course the tarte au citron is absolutely fantastic (and all the other choices are equally good).

We went with two French friends having picked it randomly from the Michelin Guide. It was amazing. We had the menu des saveurs at euros a head just fabulous. I had smoked trout and asparagus followed by rabbit then a cheeseboard to die...for topped up with a truly gorgeous dessert. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable not to mention friendly. If you are in the area it is worth a visit and they have rooms too!

We stayed for one night with our grown up daughters. This small hotel and restaurant is just wonderful. The rooms were spotless, attractive and comfortable. The service was professional yet friendly... and the food even just the basic business menu was absolutely sublime....We will definitely return.

Found this place by chance being alone by Lyon airport. I cannot describe how good was it! They have few different menus, all fantastic. Price per quality is outstanding, nice location, nice people... All was fantastic. Thanks!
