Luca's Churrascaria

The restaurant Luca's Churrascaria was recommended to us by a young lady in the Tourism Office during our stay in St. Moritz. I personally went there to reserve a table for Saturday, Jan. 28, on the same day, but they did not have anything available on such short notice.I therefore reserved for Monday, January 30, 2012, which was duly noted before me, though not in the reservation book, but rather on a small piece of paper. Whan we arrived in the evening, there was no record of our reservation, but we were given a table all the same. The restaurant is mainly a meat restaurant in the Argentinian fashion. We ordered a tomato soup for my grandson and three portions of grilled meat. Not only was the service extremely slow, the "tomato soup" bore no resemblance to a normal soup,all three portions of meat were grilled wrong, were absolutely tasteless, and the service was extremely bad. When I commented about the bad service to some people at the next table, I was impertinently critıcised by the waitress to the extent that I had no right to do so .The only right thing was the bottle of wine, with which they had nothing to do.We regularly spend our skiing holidays in St. Moritz, but I certainly shall not go to this restaurant again, IF it is still there next year, and would recommend fellow travellers to give this address a wide berth.

Wir haben es geliebt, als Luca bis letztes Jahr die „Churasqueria“ im Post Hotel in St. Moritz hatte. Wir hörten von meinen Mitbewohnern aus St. Moritz Gutes über den Umzug seines neuen Restaurants, um bezahlbare Preise zu sparen. Ich war mit einem ehemaligen Präsidenten des Cresta Run zusammen und wir wurden am Donnerstag, den 23., von einer dicken jungen Dame sehr schlecht empfangen vom Juli 2013. Sie war unhöflich, aggressiv und war verärgert, weil ich mit ihr auf Englisch, Italienisch und Französisch sprach! Sie war nicht nur unhöflich zu mir, sondern auch zu der Begleiterin meiner Freundin, der der schlechteste Tisch angeboten wurde, obwohl der Tisch am Fenster frei war. Wir (4 Personen) haben uns entschieden, in ein anderes Restaurant (Diamond) zu gehen, da wir es nicht mögen, von unprofessionellen „Bunzli“-Rezeptionisten beschimpft zu werden, insbesondere in St. Moritz „dem Gipfel der Welt“. Es ist eine Schande, denn Luca wurde gut versorgt Essen vorher, aber seine Wahl eines minderwertigen Managers/Rezeptionisten/Direktors (?) zwingt mich leider und im Moment dazu, den Lesern zu sagen, dass sie dieses Restaurant meiden sollen, mit der bemerkenswerten Ausnahme der Masochisten. Bei so einem „Acceuil“ verstehe ich, warum das so ist Das Restaurant liegt in der St. Moritz-Klassifizierung am unteren Ende.

We stopped in for a drink at the bar before dinner and enjoyed ourselves. Although this was in the off season, there were several tourists eating dinner and a few locals at the bar. The place had a cozy interior and friendly staff. At one time, the chef/owner came out and spoke to each table. The offerings of wine by the glass were limited, but the Argentinian was good. The food looked good as well, but was predominantly oriented towards Argentinean steak. It might not be a large gourmet place, but it was cozy and friendly for a drink.

Das Steak war perfekt zubereitet, wie ich es wollte, aber seien Sie vorsichtig, bei größeren Steaks kann das Medium ziemlich blutig sein. Die Qualität war für das Geld sehr gut und der Wein war ausgezeichnet. Sehr beeindruckt und ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, insbesondere für St. Moritz :)
