They have a nice playground out front for children which was the main reason that I came here (I had previously been here . Also the location is nice with outdoor eating area below the trees and close to the river on one side and cliffs of the gorge on the other side. There's also plenty of parking available. We wanted a place where the kids could run free while waiting for their food and not get dirty looks for being noisy. In Switzerland you often get dirty looks from other patrons if kids make any noise. They prefer you bring a dog. Anyhow, there's two parts to this restaurant, a cafeteria style kitchen and an a-la-carte section that was closed when we visited, so not sure when its open. The cafeteria fare was typically Swiss with sausages, Rosti potatoes, etc but the Rosti was re-heated so disappointing. They did have some interesting salads which is probably a better selection (and healthier . Overall, nice location but forgettable food. Maybe the a-la-carte (for dinner? is better? As someone else said though, the coffee is good.
We ordered pork with mushroom sauce and Rosti, and pumpkin soup. The rosti was yummy. The real surprised was the pumpkin soup. It's sweet and has a tinge of curry flavour in it. Didn't think that pumpkin and curry could blend so well together! It's a good place to take a rest after the long walk in Aare Gorge.
Das Restaurant ist eine Art Kantinenlokal. Es serviert gute Pizza, Burger und Schnitzel. Ein Gruß an den Koch/Kochmann, der ganz allein unsere Bestellungen entgegennahm, vorbereitete, kochte und sich immer noch an alle unsere Bestellungen erinnern konnte.
Loved the caverns , it was a nice cool place to walk in summer heat , my lunch of wurst and pomme frittes was delicious , shopping store was nice and had good prices !!! My third visit
