Hintergrund unseres Ausflugs war das traurige Unglück im Saxetenbach. Daher wollten wir von der Umgebung wie auch vom Fluss einen Augenschein nehmen. Und es war fast unglaublich: keine 10 km vom Hardcore-Tourismus entfernt erlebt man eine ruhige und intakte Welt verbunden mit all ihren Haken und Ösenund mitten in dieser Welt ist die Alpenrose. In diesem Tal scheint die Welt stehen geblieben zu sein. Nicht aber in der Alpenrose! Erlebt es selber- es lohnt sich!
We went to eat here without the recommendation of our landlady (we are tourists) and we certainly wouldn't have visited this restaurant as it seems very hidden and inconspicuous. Inside, everything is very quaint and traditional and the owners take personal care of their guests. The game season was open and the mouflon and deer were excellent with huge portions. We can definitely recommend the restaurant.
Particular place a little out of the world, but special, above Lake Brienz!! Quiet place with div poss to go hiking. Mountain road, limit speed!! During game season we eat game, it's better to reserve!! Family atmosphere with rustic wooden room. Possibility to book. Well done staff, thanks for the hospitality
Expensive by the standards of the euro area but overall all right. Good local heavy dishes in large quantities. Friendly service. If the alternative is driving down the valley and then back up again along the narrow steep and winding mountain road and you are staying in Saxeten you may want to dine here!
