...on a Monday afternoon when you didn't have a chance to have lunch and are desparately driving through the Töss Valley from one closed restaurant to the other. This is where you will end up at 2:30 pm, starving and cold and hoping for a warm soup or so. Unfortunately at that time of day the kitchen is closed and all they offer are sandwiches and a couple of salads. The service was friendly, especially with the children who got some extra treats on top of their home-made rustic salami sandwich. The cheese and saussage salad of the grown ups was lacking any kind of inspiration - decorating it with a slice of an orange was the funniest thing about it. The setting is typical for a Swiss Village Pub - any kind of decoration that ever crossed the owner's hands finds a place somewhere and stays there forever. Local beer drinkers met at the regular's table that afternoon but it seemed that they had plenty of reservations for the evening as well.Maybe I'll be back some time to check the kitchen when it's hot. I would like to be surprised.
