Restaurant Le MONOT

We had ordered the mixed starters which was ok - I have eaten tastier hummus from a shop bought jar. But as we were half-way through the starters our main course (mixed grill) was served. Why they would do this is beyond me, no sense of timing. The server did not understand what the problem was and the cook would not take the main course back to keep it warm while we finished the starters, insisting the meat would go dry. So we had to accept it, hastily finishing the starters. The main course was not very tasty anyway, never mind dry. Will definitely not go back and will not recommend it.

I think last year I visited or the year before and it was not that impressive. However upon my latest visit, I sat inside and service was good, there were more people and the food was better. I would recommend the Royal Monot that comes with 7 mezes and mixed grill (chicken and lamb). Though the lamb was a bit chewy and fatty overall it was very pleasant would recommend. English spoken and menus has English translation too.

We were a group of 5 visiting the Basel World exhibition, two of the group members were vegetarians so after some research we decided to try this place as they had a variety of vegetarian dishes. The place was very cozy, with very welcoming staff and most importantly the food was amazing. I would definitely visit again on my future trips and would highly recommend it.

The food was great. Delicious and tasty mezze and grill meat. Service was very friendly. Decor is ok-ish. Prices ok, although the wine is clearly overpriced, which is a shame.

Really high quality and delicious food! The menue offers a variety of excellent choices, service is OK and very friendly! You gotta try it!
