I stopped in here for a late lunch one day while visiting Schaffhausen and regretted it. Far and away the worst restaurant experience of my trip. I got seated and asked for a food menu. The waiter pointed me to the ice cream on the...dessert/drink menu, so I thought he might not be understanding. I ordered a water, which was terribly overpriced. When he returned, I had figured out google translate, and asked for a lunch/dinner/food menu in German. He smiled and said that they were not serving right now. I opted for a glass of wine and enjoyed the view for a while. Not five minutes later, he seated a party of four at a table next to me and promptly brought them food menus, and not long after that, entrees. I tried one last time and pointed to the table next to me and inquired about food. He replied no I asked for my check, paid for my overpriced water and wine, and left. Unclear if they hated tourists or Americans, but this was a miserable experience in an otherwise delightful country.
after a minute fantastic boat trip the next to the thundering Rhinefall, the two of us decided to eat a small bite. we chose the terrace in the restaurant “Park am Rhein” and ordered a traditional flaky cake. the view of the waterfall of...here is very rewarding. however we were very disappointed by the arrival of the “flame cake”, which, if well prepared for a great lunch or snack makes. this was definitiw not the case in the did in this restaurant!. next to a few bacon lardons there were just some sour cream and swirl on it! at sfr pro portion this was certainly a total demolition. I just don't understand how a restauranter can record on such a court? Perhaps this is the reason why they hardly had customers. the service was very friendly and professional! many thanks, but never again. Sorry!
we went to our court was so bad in taste and we complained. the waiter offered to change the court. a few minutes later her day leader came with our court and the first thing he said was that the court was in order and that we have to pay for it. we were withdrawn from his unmistakable and overall behavior. we expected that he first understands why we complain. he assumed we were faking. we sent our court back from sheer frustration. no idea whether it was racist or behave as normal. so much for the Swiss hospitality.
I traveled from zürich and back in a day to see the storm with a friend; we were on a long weekend trip. we had to eat and choose this restaurant. the waitress was short, rude. friendly service was on that day on the menu...(on us and other diners.) eating was mediocre. for the money was the small portion size and the taste was bland! all in all a disappointment.
