Spicy Village is a small restaurant a bit farther out from the central Chinatown area, with limited seating more suited for small groups of 1-3). My partner and I came on a Friday night and waited just 5 minutes before getting seated at a shared a table with another party of 2. The staff were really nice and friendly, and the service was quick. We ordered the oxtail hui mei, which is listed as a dry noodle but it still comes with a good amount of broth. It was a bit spicy, which paired well with the well-balanced flavors of the broth, noodles, meat, and veggies. The hand-pulled noodles tasted pretty fresh and soaked in a lot of the broth's aromatic flavors, but they did get soggy pretty quickly. The oxtail was excellent— tender, flavorful, and fell right off the bone; I wish it came with more! The price $12.75) was pretty good, and there are many cheaper noodle options on the menu too. Overall a solid spot for flavorful Henan hand-pulled noodles!—Price relative to peers): 4.5/5Food: 4.5/5Ambience: 4.5/5Service: 5/5Overall Value: 4.5/5
