I was very disappointed with the very limited and unimaginative offerings for vegetarians. All I wanted was a foccacia or wrap or something similar and most cafes have a variety of options but they had NO vegetarian options like that and were not interested in making something up without meat. They offered me a salad. Now I usually like salads but this one sounded like it was mostly lettuce and not much else. However, I was assured it was a substantial salad. Guess what - it was mostly lettuce and not much else. It also had hardly any dressing and was pretty tasteless, despite asking for more dressing. I left the restaurant hungry and not impressed. Won't be back.
I am a coeliac so I went to great lengths to check their menu prior to arriving and decided that the Sri Lankan curry was my safest option given that all other gf meals were grilled or pan fried and a possible risk of contamination. I also checked with the waitress about it being gf and not contaminated and she checked with the chef. All okay! When it came out it had a pappadum stuck in it that had been fried. Hence contamination. This curry was also very, very salty. No flavour and no vegetables. My friends had fish and chips and the chips were cold. All in all a waste of money.
This is a delayed promise made to Tanja on 24/6/2015 after partaking in her delightful Turkish Chicken Wraps that we would do a report on Tripadvisor. - So Tanja "better late than never " however to still remember nearly 2 years later speaks volumes for your fare. Thank you. (Tripadvisor doesn't cater for more than a year later so here's hoping this report gets through. Tim & Enid
We had breakfast there last sunday morning, the 3 egg omelette was below average, the eggs benedict with salmon was below, below average, the only good thing was the strong coffee, it would appear that most locals only eat the cakes as there weren't many breakfasts coming out.
