Trattoria de la Plaza

A lot on the menu is quintessentially Italian but some dishes are more fusion Mediterranean. The food is sensationally good, the service top noth and the atmosphere fantastic but a big issue here is that the portions for the mains are too small. I favour a good balance of quantity and quality and I think they are a bit mean. Two thinks I like apart from the excellent food: 1. If has a fabulous wine list. 2. The location of this very trendy restaurant in a very working class neighbourhood of Bogotá, which I find very interesting (a bit bizarre when one notices armour plated cars and sevelal bodyguards waiting outside for people eating inside).

Located in a sector of Bogota nothing touristy, near a market place, with an entrance to nothing attractive. On a second floor you will find a treasure for any foodie.If you are a foreigner and are not afraid to leave the tourist districts, this place is going to delight you.Excellent Italian food, vintage atmosphere, Italian wines and very good prices.

Not only is the food delicious it is plentiful. Wonderful blow-the-button-off-your-pants portions. Do not be put off by the area, it just adds to the experience. Tour the 7 de agosto plaza for some decadent sights and smells. I am glad to see more and more people moving away from the traditional and snub high-class restaurant areas.

Great to come with friends to enjoy a great meal. Make sure to make a reservation, it is usually booked. The menu is varied, very complete, and the prices are very accesible. The pasta is of course recommended. Sizes are generous. It is a place to come and enjoy, don't rush.

Beautiful surprise of flavors and decoration. The canelones, bread and burrata are delicious. Will come back again.
