Wir waren an einem Dienstag Abend dort, Live Musik mit Zieharmonika und Sänger mit sehr guten urigen Liedern :) Lokal ist innen nicht zu groß , wir wurden mit zwei weiteren Gästen an einem Tisch gesetzt, das hat uns aber nichts gemacht. Abwechslungsreiche Küche, Nette Kellnerin, Hat uns sehr gefallen.
I remember my first time in this place in April 2005. I stayed in "Privat Zimmer" then and the Host Lady when asked, where to go for traditional Austrian food, recommended this place. Now, every time we visit Gastein, even when staying in Böckstein, we make sure we come here. Besides “absolut sensationell” traditional dishes including Käsenudeln, one may also count on good Wiener Schnitzel and very hospitable service. 100% worth recommending!
We had our best 2 meals at this restaurant when visiting Bad Hofgastein. The menu consist of classic Austrian food, like Wienerschnitzel and Knödel, all served with a feeling of real homecocked meal. The best courses where made of venison, obvisouly hunted by the familiy itself (?). Special kids menu and great attitud to kids. The service was kind and swift at both our visits. The price level is in line with the quality. Would visit again if in Bad Hofgastein.
Graziosa stube un po' fuori dal centro.Interessante reinterpretazione dei classici piatti austriaci.Menù vario sia di carne che di pesce.Prezzo in linea con la qualità.Prezzo della birra meno caro della media dei locali in centro.
Ristorante che "sfugge" dall'esterno, incastonato in un residence nel bel mezzo di una zona residenziale. Se fuori passa inosservato, dentro, la musica cambia e vorrebbe suonare tipicamente austriaca. Fosse per le graziosissime signore in costume potrebbe anche passare. Mobilio e interni, però, dicono pub, quello che potresti trovare dietro l'angolo di una qualunque città italiana. Frequentato da moltissimi locali, incoraggia ad adattarsi a quel che loro mangiano.Il menù spazia mescolando specialità locali (cervo) ad altri più o meno azzeccati piatti (i famigerati spaghetti bolognese). Cucina rapida, servizio ottimo.... Cervo duretto, impiattato in maniera teatrale, contorni saporiti da assaggiare con la carne saporita. Crauti rossi, canederli....Un pò più strano l'abbinamento di una salsa di ribes rosso al cordon bleu. De gustibus.Difficile riuscire a mangiare altro dopo un piatto, le porzioni sono molto abbondanti. Come il conto. Si superano i 40 euro a testa con la birra, appena troppo per la media del luogo, ma ne vale la pena.
A bit difficult to find but really nice food and great service! The kids both had great Wiener schnitzel and the husband enjoyed a deer stew. Really nice sallads!
We found this restaurant almost by accident after traipsing around the centre of Bad Hofgastein looking for something that wasn't massively overpriced (or, on a Monday night, fully booked - or closed). At first sight the main courses look a little pricy (in the 15-20 euro range) but they are actually tremendous value: authentic local ingredients, beautifully cooked and lots of variety (and quantity) and they actually have more than one vegetarian option! The restaurant is small, cosy and charming with traditional decoration. It's obviously family-owned and the staff are really friendly. They have menus in English - just be aware that they don't take credit or debit cards. Highly recommended.
If you stay in Bad Hofgastein you must visit this place.The food is authentic and very well cooked, with a taste of a chef restaurant and the prices of a local one.I had the deer ragout and it was delicious.Would definitely like to go back and try their other dishes.
