This local restaurant serves very delicious Swiss cuisine with a modern touch (including several vegetarian dishes). On Sunday they additionally offer sunday roast and on monday Wienerschnitzel.The relaxed setting with old wood panels and the very friendly service invites to stay longer and have an easy conversation. We were a group of four and each of us had three different courses, so that we were able to taste 12 different plates and all of them were really good. We gladly paid the total bill of 360.- including aperitif and wine for all four of us.

Very close to the tram stop near our hotel we stumbled across this place by chance and were happily surprised. The welcome was warm and the food hearty if limited. I enjoyed the pork cordon bleu and the other dishes were well received.
A friend of ours invited us and it was a great surprise it is a honest place where the menu is small but filled. With honest food good quality with reasonable prices and great service
I bought the cordon bleu. At first i thought it was great, but after needing to eat more than just a single bite, i slowly came to the realisation that the food they served was just terrible. Lets start with my meal. It took them about 30-40 minutes to deliver my food (i understand quality takes time...). The meat was dry, filled with overly greasy cheese that makes my stomach churn just thinking about it, and it barely had any ham in it. I also ordered a salad with some dressing consisting of bacon, and that was quite decent (but its hard to make anything taste bad with bacon). So in conclusion. If you like to waste your money on tasteless, greasy, overpriced food, i highly recommend Hardhof.
Being in Swiss we chose to have a traditional Swiss mealWe enjoyed a "geschnetzeltes" of veal with veal kidney. That was superb and so was the rösti that went with it. The "cordon bleu" came in an unusual form. More a ball then flat. But it was made by perfect meat that was cooked juicy and the cheese inside was beautiful smooth. So this was traditional food in a perfect way.Finishing with a very good plate of different cheeses and some small portions from the desert menu, a creme brule with honey and rosemary and a mousse of toblerone with salted almondcrunch made it a beautiful dinner. So no need to go to the city centre when you stay in one of the nearby hotels.
We went to the Hardof with friends we were traveling with because it was close to our hotel and well rated on trip advisor. The two guys had the bratwurst which was very good, but for us spending $31 for one brat and a side was a bit much. The wives had the duck salad. The duck had no flavor and neither of the ladies was really happy with the salad. My friend's wife responded to a servor when asked how her food was that the she really did not like the duck. The servor did not respond well to the comment and was a bit unfriendly during the remainder of our time there.
This is a nice friendly hotel, across the road from the Mercure Hotel. It has quite a 'buzz', and is very popular with locals. Bookings are advised! Food is good and plentiful, and the service is friendly and attentive. A great local restaurant.
