this place has a really lively and cool ambience. it is rather small but usually busy and loud. the service is fun and friendly. it is not posh at all. the burrata as a starter is a big and amazing if you are hungry. we also loved our paccheri al salsiccia because the sauce was excellent and the pasta perfectly timed to aldente. in this italian place we dared to go with a ribera del duero and were not disappointed at all. Overall a fun place with great food and convenient proximity for clubbing.
Perfect italian food, great atmosphere that during the weekend combine fine dining and chatty atmosphere. We were always very welcomed. When I read some comments it really sounds like that are not describing this place. Great quality of ingredients, great seafood.
Worst restaurant in Zurich. Terrible service, awful food and extremely overpriced. Very shady atmosphere and workers. Terrible place!!
don't ever think coming here... just go to macdonals and you'll have better service, better food and much cheaper
Is not only about the quality of the food, the great steak, the melting Risotto or feeling you are in the middle of Italy (which is not that far away), but also the ambient, the sense of exclusivity without being snob, and the warm treat of Mario himself, is all of that together that makes this one of my favorite places not only in Switzerland, but in the world. I love to come back whenever I can, since there are still so many places to discover, but every time I go here is like a re-discovering of tastes and aromas I did not know before. Keep going like that Mario.
This restaurant serves brilliant food from Puglia. The fish dishes are excellent, pasta is great too. The owner and his staff take special care of having a welcoming laid back & fun atmosphere. Going there is always much more than just for dinner (yet for your purse too).
I went to the Morgenstern for a dinner with a few colleagues. The offer is almost exclusively from southern Italy and there's a very limited choice for vegetarians. My dish was ok, ingredients were quality ones, but in the end nothing exceptional for a price slightly above what I expected for the place and the atmosphere. The service was friendly but the local was extremely noisy, although they apologised several times when we left, so it might have been just bad luck that evening. All in all not a bad experience, but not 100% satisfying.
Like eating in Italy - we tried one of everything off the starter menu and they were all out of this world. Excellent ingredients, good portion sizes, beautiful wine, and nice to see the owner, too! Bravo!
