I had read the reviews of this restaurant and the common thread was excellent food albeit expensive for the fact that Buelach is not a tourist city. What I can say is that the food is pretty average. I had fish which was good and my wife had ravioli which were tasteless. Children had Flammkuchen (a kind of pizza) which were good. My wife and I had 1 glass each of the local red wine. What surprised me was the ultimate bill. It was massively over priced for what we had. The price I paid was similar to what I would have expected at a five star restaurant in Switzerland. Coming from Singapore where we are used to high prices this was a shocker. This restaurant needs to look at it price/value proposition!
There aren't many choices in the center of Old Town but this is a delightful one. The dining room is lovely. We only stopped for drinks but I can just envision what an experience a meal would be. It is peaceful and relaxing.
It's not cheap, and the portions are smaller than average, but the quality is always there. The Flammekuchen is delicious. There appetisers usually a little inventive and very tasty. The service is mostly good. I just hate how they always place me in the middle just because I eat alone.
Excellent meals in pleasant atmosphere and the staff always very courteous. The location of the place is very good although there might be parking problems.
We had lunch in this restaurant. The decor was nice in a very old building. Had a menu for 20CHF , a green salad followed by artichoke ravioli. My partner had cheese ravioli both were good. The service was good and the waitresses wore Austrian dresses. Dog friendly.We will return.
Zum Goldenen Kopf has been our "go-to" local restaurant in Bülach for the past couple of years. The restaurant is located in the heart of Bülach's old town (Altstadt), about a 10-minute drive from the Zürich airport. There is a hotel upstairs which I have not visited. The restaurant has tables both inside and outside along the street. The fare is classic Austrian and the offerings change with the seasons. My favorite time to come here is in the fall when the game menu (Wildmenu) and pumpkin soup (Kürbisschaumsuppe) are on offer. In addition to the seasonal dishes, they also offer classics like Kalbsschnitzel and Cordon Bleu and a special menu for children (Kindermenu). Unlike many other restaurants in the area, we have found the food here to be consistently well-executed and of high quality. The service is excellent and we look forward to seeing Jenny every time we visit! They are also open on Sundays. Be sure to reserve your table in advance.
I have eaten here many times. The food is always good, the staff are always friendly, efficient and attentive, and it is a lovely location.
I went in late for dinner well after their kitchen closed....However they still served me dinner which I appreciated a lot. Food is good and ambience is also very good. Loved the service. Highly recommended.
