Good local food value for money. Nice clean and modern restaurant with a nice view of themeadows. The Owner of the Restaurant is also the Chief Chef was very friendly and his wifecame over to our table with their few weeks old baby to greet us. In summer time,the Restaurant has a nice garden with playground for children.
I have traveled several times through a mill, but I have never noticed this house. thanks to the Swiss guide “Gilde Gourmet” I discovered a small jewel in appenzeller land. my dinner on Friday was really pleasant. the dining room a kind of cozy veranda .boasts an intimate and relaxed feeling. a huge thumb to the renter yvonne and her team for the brilliant service. it best reflects the Swiss hospitality. during dinner the chef also came out to welcome the guests much appreciated. I chose the four course east menu. it started with a white wein soup with a small flat star tender and tasty. as starter I enjoyed the salat with hecht perch filets from the bottom lake very well. as the main course was the catch of the day “’saibling’ (char) fish: quite generous and tasty part, the fish was very fresh. as dessert the mango parfait was a refreshing and lush end of dinner. Unfortunately, the Swiss is known for an expensive price structure, also on the country. the bill was chf93. However, as I took a four-course menu and given the great food and excellent service, stars offers very good value for money.

Outstanding hospitality. I stayed at the hotel. Very large, clean and beautiful room with a view of the countryside, exceptionally good for the price. I had excellent service in the restaurant. Young team that fulfills every wish with great friendliness. I asked about vegan food, and according to information from the competent service employee, this is also possible here on request. I was even given several options to choose from. In the end I ordered cucumber cold bowl, lettuce with chanterelles and asparagus risotto. Everything was extremely good, fresh and also beautifully presented. And last but not least, the house aperitif, a strawberry and elderberry punch, was excellent. Many thanks to the whole team
