We went for lunch on Sunday to celebrate St Andrew's day. This is a small country bistro, quite a long way out in the country, with three dining rooms. We were seated in the bar area which has four tables. The rest of the place was taken up with a large family party and lots of children. We were seated immediately and given menus by a very friendly lady, (probably la patronne and wife of the chef). For cocktails my wife had a Kir Royale and I a glass of white wine both of which were promptly served. My wife chose Ballotine de Gibier and I, feuilleté de boudin with foie gras: I won! Not that her's was in any way less than excellent just that mine was delicious, unusual and beautifully cooked and prepared. For the main course we both had saddle of Hare with home made spätzle and autumn vegetables. The hare was wild, not gamey and perfectly cooked. Delightful. We washed all this down with a very good bottle of Humagne Rouge. The only b-mol is my usual gripe that wine prices in Swiss restaurants are little short of outrageous with a mark up of 4-5 not at all uncommon. The menu changes frequently as they use only seasonal and locally available products.Any questions we had were answered in a very friendly and knowledgeable manner. We had a very good experience and will go again.
