amazing eating (big portions also,) friendly service, incredible landscape. the owner has esel for pets, there are walking around, there are possibilities for children to play, a take-away area separated from the restaurant, fondue huts and more. after a few kilometers on a Scottish road you reach the restaurant that is more of a day trip. I highly recommend it.
we had the lunch menu for 29. which I will visit for the quality they get, beautiful view and small art shop.

situated over 600 meters at the top of a hill, this charming restaurant combines beautifully into the landscape with a charming rustic finish. there are plenty of parking spaces and many seating places both inside on two flat and outside on the terrace, which offer a wonderful view of the alps in the far away on a clear day. the staff are friendly and attentive, without being too persistent. I might have had the best nasalate I've ever lived in the Swiss in 25 years. I also ordered the house special rösti, which was also very tasty, but I had the feeling that it was prepared for a long time before it was delivered to my table. there they go to the restaurant over a lot of unholstered road (dirt track) and I always feel that the underside of my car is damaged. it hasn't happened yet. next to the breathtaking view of the alps, when they are ready to go a few hundred meters further on the hills, they will see the spectacular ruins of the castle new falkenstein.
Loved the restuarant. The service was excellent, food first class and the views out of this world.
We walked over from the next ridge on a cold January day with a four-year-old without a booking, which was unwise. They squeezed us in after half an hour though, and we had some delicious Alplermacaroni, a really intense mushroom-saffron risotto, and rösti with onions. There is a swing and seesaw with a view for the kids, though the food was very grown-up, in a good way. Will come back!
You either need a car or a steep hike to reach the restaurant but the views are worth it! There are plenty of parking spaces. The staff were very friendly. One of our table got stung by a wasp and our waitress brought us some spray to keep them away. Unfortunately we only stayed for a drink but the food looked very good on the nearby tables. I would recommend a visit for the views alone, everything else is a plus.
