tl;dr Food is good. Go for it. Make sure to order some drinks too. We got an uncomfortable stare when we chose not to order any drinks including still or sparkling bottled water. We drank from our own bottle and was told verbatim Not to be rude, but you shouldn't drink your own water if you don't order any drinks. In a country where clean potable water is so ubiquitous that no one ever has to worry about water, is it really necessary to fuss over.... water? Is it a social norm that hospitality is reserved only for people who order bottled water or drinks? Food wise, the ceviche is great. It is wrapped in leaves and served warm, definitely something I have not tried before. The acidity and seasoning is well balanced. The other starters are really good too. The duck entree is cooked perfectly, and served on a bed of delicious potato and corn. I can see why some people really enjoy dining at Pikante, and I would too if I wasn't bothered by another stare we got when we ordered only 1 entree instead of 2? If the goal is to ensure some minimum spending per person , make it explicit by implementing cover charges or setting a minimum order like min 1 entree per person and displaying it in the menu . Or just make dining more enjoyable so that guests order more and stay for dessert instead of trying to leave the establishment ASAP.
