The located next to a lovely park (Pötzleinsdorfer Castle) in semi-rural while still being in Wien, means a visit here can be combined with a walk in a lovely park.The service is very professional, efficient and pleasant and the food is both good value and good quality, traditional Austrian fare.It is a popular spot so book ahead - which they will gladly do. It's a good place for families of all ages, and the kids have plenty of space to play in the well appointed garden.Getting there is a bit of a trip so a car (or taxi) is necessary - but that makes it more special and less touristy, being predominantly attended by Austrians
I went here often in the season of "Gansl" already.I tried multiple places but this one is by far the best for Martini-Gansl. The season for this is in November, so if you're a tourist or even local and want to try a typical thing to eat at that time its a Gansl. The place is cute, old-school styled and has friendly service. I personally love it :)
We’ve been there in summer and it’s very nice to sit outside in the guest garden. In case temperature goes a bit down they provide blankets. I’d imagine if its cooler and you’ve to sit inside, it a very quaint atmosphere. We were 4 adults and ordered different appetizers and main courses and all dishes ordered simply said looked and tasted very good!We had a several bottles of Austrian white wine to go an in summary, the waiter gave us an excellent choice.All in all we spend a wonderful evening there, and obviously were the last ones to go … .. .
Located in a beautiful part of Vienna close to Pötzleinsdorfer Schlosspark (Pötzleinsdorf Palace Park), this inn was originally a shelter for hikers. Rooms inside are very cosy and create a wonderful atmosphere. Outdoor patio is beautiful. There is a playground for children in the backside of the garden. Steirerstöckl can also be booked for events. Food is very good: freshest high quality products only are offered and come from a farm in Styria. Excelelnt Styrian wine-list. Service is very friendly and helpful.
I am Austrian living in Australia and visited the Steirerstöckl with friends to catch up. The food is REAL and tasty as....I had the Reinischkogler Wildschweinbraten and my friends the Zander ( Fish) and lammbratl. All dishes cooked to perfection. Entrees are a great selection of soups, salads and more.Wine List offers the best wines from Austria and the Schnapps tasty tasty tasty (homemade)Staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant has a great outdoor seating area which is surrounded by forest in the heart of Vienna.We will be back
Truly a hidden gem - we lived here for three years before we discovered this place through some work colleagues. We've eaten here many times but today was my first in the garden. You truly feel like you are in a country town, hours outside of Vienna. There is no traffic, no sirens, just peace. Oh, and the food is great too!! Best schnitzel in town - I mean it. Salads are very delicious. Seasonal menu of high quality ingredients and always perfectly prepared. Great for all occasions - lunch, dinner, business, friends, family.
I enjoyed a delicious dinner here with a friend who lives in Vienna and comes here quite frequently with her family. The service was most attentive, the meal was excellent and the surroundings were 'authentic' and totally different from the kind of restaurant you would find anywhere in the world. The location in the woods is brilliant and I would love to return in the summer to see more of the surroundings.
Such a cute, cozy little spot tucked into the woods along the edge of Pötzleinsdorfer Park. The menu is small, but offers all local, seasonal dishes, and everything is delicious. Also, super kid friendly, which is somewhat hard to find around here. We will definitely be back!
