This restaurant actually servers "Cheese fondue at discretion". The fondue was very good, typical for the Gruyeres area.In the weekend the terrace is usually full, but you can manage to get a table even without a reservation.The prices are a little high, but this should be expected.Overall service and experience was very good.
Nice location half way up the main street and we got a good table overlooking the village. We had lunch which was nice, the service was really good and the only negative is that it's quite expensive (although this goes for all of the restaurants in Gruyeres)
We were really disappointed. The food was bad, especially the chicken and the fries. Everything was very salty. As if this was not bad enough, there were gazillions of flies all over the food with no attempt by the restaurant to get rid of them. Bad food and annoying ambiance!
The waitress was very friendly with everyone, and she appeared to mean it. Good food. As everywhere here more expensive than it should be. Outdoor seating.
Had an early evening check in in the month of February. Welcomed and immediately offered the option for dinner which we took. Food was excellent and well priced. Room accommodation above the restaurant over looking the village fountain was exceptionally clean and well appointed.
I can't understand how just melted cheese could be so tasty but it is! The best fondue I've ever tried (impossible to resist a second serving - it's unlimited). The wine was also very nice.

During our recent holiday, my husband and I had lunch here. We shared a delicious fondue and some local beer. The fondue was amazing - it was the most delicious we have ever had!! We enjoyed our time in Gruyere very much (it was the highlight of our trip in fact) and lunch at the Hotel de Ville was part of that.
