Amazing mountain restaurant in Kitzbuhel. The food is mainly Italian seafood, but they do serve Austrian food. The view and atmosphere is really superb! The food is authentic italian which is so delicious! Service is great and they make you feel at home. You can walk there if you don't want to ski. You must be a good skier to be able to get there on skis.
After what was supposed to be a short meet up with some mountain men, our lunch ended with having to take a skidoo ride back to the gondola and a rather lumpy bill. The food was excellent, the wine and the service was just as good. Like so many things, you get what you pay for and if you can, go here and enjoy.
Following a make-over Sonnbuhel has morphed into a cool, high end destination-dining hotspot. Whilst Kitzbuhel is blessed with myriad excellent mountain huts this place is uniquely modish
It's been two years since this restaurant has changed hands.The old Tomsky's owners have taken over the restaurant on top of the Hahnenkamm Cable Car in 1650m and Sonnbühel became a genuine Italian restaurant.The new owner has transferred his passion for handmade pasta and Italian cuisine to the place and also offered a really impressive wine list.All in all, the guests can enjoy amazing Italian food and great wine together with the best service available in a restaurant on the slopes of Kitzbühel.Every time it's a pleasure enjoying the great food and service.Top of my list would be the amazing Carbonara and the insane Tiramisu!
this place is fabulous! We were 4 couples partying though the hahnenkamm weekend and Sonnbuhel was a must. This is a super cool restaurant about 20 minutes walk from the topp station of the gondola. the atmosphere is nice and relaxing! they have a long bar outside where you can sit in the sun in lounge chairs sipping a whine or beer! the view is priceless! We decided to eat inside since the sun was on its way down. The restaurant is very cozy with several small rooms with long tables. The service was very good and the food was fab! How many mountain restaurants can you get fresh salt baked seabass? need I say more? No! The pasta was good to.This has to be experienced to understand! We will be back for sure. we sat for a long time and the restaurant was kind to drive us back to the gondola on snow scooters! super cool
A truly wonderful experience. Gorgeous sunny terrace with beautiful views in a quiet location accessed via an easy piste only a few minutes from the main cable car at Hannanhamm. Great staff, very high quality in all respects from the food, service, ambiance, music etc. WE had an extraordinary fish/seafood platter. And not daft prices too, so hopefully it won't follow in the steps of a lot of ski lunch terraces which have tried too hard to become hip. They plan to make the rooms upstairs available from next year. The interior is truly stunning too. Couldn't recommend it enough.
You are in Kitzbühel, enjoying one of Europe's nicest and sunniest ski resort. At 2000 Meters altitude, getting down on the 18, you see on your left hand side a noble Austrian Chalet. Here you are. A high energy music welcomes you on the terrace. Champagne waits for you inside. Tables are dressed an elegant way. Sit down, look around you, people are eating veal carpaccio with fresh avocado, fresh lobster linguini, florentine steak (A Must,) amazing Austrian desserts, home made white coffee ice cream. To end your meal, the waiter brings you a ... Bombardino!Close your eyes. You are at Sonnbühel.
Went there during recent ski trip. Service was very chaotic, some in the group were finished eating when other weren't even served yet. The dishes were ok in tast, but almost ludicrously small. Moreover it was very expensive. They even dare to add a cover charge of 3.5 Euro per person, just for some bread.
