Good Italian fare: pastas, calamari, scampi, and salad.The Antipasti are very good. We shared 3 portions of Antipasto between six of us, and everyone was happy. This place gets crowded during the weekends. A reservation is recommended.Note: smoking is still allowed in some parts of the restaurant. If you do not like the smoke, ask for a table in a non-smoking section of the restaurant.
I had dinner with my wife and our daugther at this beautiful place during our recent visit to Klagenfurt. We did not have a reservation, but were seated in a confortable table outside, close to the main door. We had antipasto, which was delicious and huge, caprese salad, funghi risotto and Spaghetti. The mozarella was one of the best we have ever had and the risotto was also very good. Even though the quality of the food is superb, the price tag was quite affordable.
Great food and super service. We had salads, pasta and fish. Fresh ingredients and super tasty! On top they have a Very nice selection of wines. Top recommendation for Italian food in Klagenfurt.
nice location on a quiet pedestrian street, but average service and very average food. The grated cheese for my pasta looked and tasted like it was in the bowl for 2-3 days... my pasta were not very tasty. Huge quantity... but no taste. definitely won't be going back.
We really didn't want heavy Austrian food for lunch so we stopped into this place and it was an average lunch, not a place to seek out. The thing that surprised us was that there were two small rolls on each table that were there when you got seated. You'd think they came with the meal right? Wrong! We came to find out that if you ate them you got charged 2 Euros which seemed very strange. You could have sat there and pawed the rolls to no end and who knows whether they would have sat there for the next guest at the table...not a very appetizing thought.
We visited on August. Ouside this restaurant look very good. But food was not very good. It was without a taste. Food was faint. In this restaurant you can pay only cash. In 2015? It is joke? No. And the best in joke was "brad". I had to take a picture.
The food was good once we got it, but they forgot to put our order in and then once they realized it they came back and asked us what we ordered. We told them they then brought out the wrong thing. Then the waiter tried to blame us and the couple next to us told him they heard us and he screwed up. So the manager came and took over and she got it right. She was very nice and brought us some grappa and coffee to make up for it and was very apologetic.
Outside tables were at premium at lunchtime, but we could snaffle one of the last tables under a sun umbrella; on this day the Klagenfurt sun was sometimes for a short time interspersed interrupted with one or two drops of rain. Looking around the busy restaurant terrace and noticing that almost every guest rose from the table between 12.55 and 13.00, we concluded that local office workers were the bulk of the customers. The pasta was well prepared; service was matter-of-fact. There was some disagreement with the proprietor, when the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese turned out to be very young and tasteless Grana, but overall the food was very satisfactory. To be recommended.
