We were staying in Konstanz for the wine festival and our hotel was very close to the Swiss border which, thanks to the Shengen agreement, you can cross by foot without stopping just like in the EU. So just for fun we decided to try this Swiss restaurant and we also wanted to spend unwanted Swiss franks we had gotten in Zurich airport.Its a small café that might seat 20 but the service was prompt. We each had a Swiss beer and we shared an Antipasti Tutto (everything) plate that did seem to have a bit of everything, not unlike tappas in Spain. The antipasta was all very good. If we come back to Kreuzlingen we will drop in again.
Walking in Konstanz, we were just a few steps away from the border, so we thought, let's have fun, go to Switzerland for lunch. Two, or three steps and we were in Kreuzlingen. The Hotel Six accordingly to it's name, is on No 6 Hauptstrasse.A very welcoming CafeBar, where we had an excellent mixed platter of cold cuts and pickles, with the best ever crispy bread. First we thought, it won't be enough for a lunch, but surprisingly, when we finished, we found us filled up. After a lot of heavy food, that we polished up at the Wine Festival, it was a blessing to our stomachs.The service was 5*, the food was delightful, and we didn't have to faint looking at the bill.Probably we'll visit this CafeBar again.
Trotz Lage gleich beim Zoll und an einer Strasse ist es einladende auch draussen zu sitzen und zu geniessen. Service ist freundlich und kompetent.
The Cafe bar at hotel Six is one of my favourite retreats in the Konstanz / Kreuzling area. After a "hard days shopping" in Konstanz it is perfect to have a quite coffee. They also do great platter with cold meats and anti-pasti There is also wine specials with great wines from "yet-unkown" vineyards around the worldThe service is always very friendly and accomodatingLive jazz / soul music in the evenings completes the package
Endlich ein lokal, das erkannt hat, dass man auch auf schweizer seite zu vernünftigen preisen gute Qualität anbieten kann. Leider wird das lokalnoch von wenigen gästen angenommen. Für mich ein geheimtip

we went into constanz, we were just a few steps away from the border, so we thought we were having fun going to the Swiss to lunch. two or three steps and we were in crucifixes. the hotel six is according to the name on the nr. 6 main road....A very welcoming cafebar, where we have an excellent mix of cold cuts and pickles, with the best ever crispy brot. first we thought it will not be enough for a lunch, but surprisingly, when we were finished, we found ourselves filled. after a lot of heavier food that we refined at the weeping, it was a blessing for our stomachs. the service was 5,* the food was lovely, and we did not have to look weak on the bill. probably we visit this cafebar again.
the cafe bar in hotel six is one of my favorite retreats in the constanz kreuzling area. after a hard shopping in constanz it is perfect to have a pretty coffee. they also make big plate with cold meat and anti-pasti there are...also wein specialities with big weeping from still growing wine mountains all over the world of service is always very friendly and accomodating live jazz soul music in the evenings finished the package
